This Privacy Policy describes how DocDoomScroll ("we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and shares information when you use the DocDoomScroll: Watch Together mobile application (the "App"). By using the App, you agree to the practices described in this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.
1. WHO WE ARE
DocDoomScroll operates the DocDoomScroll: Watch Together application. You can contact us at:

2. INFORMATION WE COLLECT
We collect the following information when you use the App:
- Account information: Your email address and display name when you create an account.
- Saved content: URLs and metadata of reels you save to your Vault, including platform source and mood tags.
- Group and session data: Groups you create or join, Dose sessions you participate in, voting responses, and reactions.
- Together status: An optional, self-reported indication of whether you were watching in person, remotely, or a mix, when starting a group Dose session.
- Location information (optional): If you choose to provide it, we collect your city, state, and postal code. See Section 3 for full detail.
- Usage data: App interactions, feature usage, and session activity used to operate and improve the App.
- Purchase information: Subscription status and transaction history processed through Google Play and RevenueCat. We do not store your payment card details.
3. LOCATION INFORMATION IN DETAIL
The App allows you to optionally add a city, state, and postal code to your profile. This is entirely optional and is never required to use any feature of the App.
- Manual entry: Type your city, state, and postal code directly. No device permission is required.
- One-time auto-detect: Tap a button to have the App read your device's approximate location a single time and convert it into a city, state, and postal code for you. This is a one-time read, not continuous tracking.
A note on Android permissions: The App uses a standard third-party location library to power the auto-detect feature. Because of how that library is built, your device's permission screen may show both an "approximate location" and a "precise location" permission, even though the App only ever requests and uses approximate, one-time location data. The App does not request continuous or background location access, and never uses precise/fine-grained location data for any purpose. If you prefer, you can decline this permission entirely and enter your city, state, and postal code manually instead.
We do not sell, rent, or share your location information with data brokers or advertising partners.
4. HOW WE USE YOUR INFORMATION
- Create and manage your account
- Provide, operate, and improve the App and its features
- Process AI mood tagging of saved reels via OpenAI Vision API
- Enable group watch sessions, voting, and real-time features
- Manage subscription status and in-app purchases
- Respond to your support requests and communications
- Ensure the security and integrity of our services
We do not sell your personal information. We do not use your data for advertising purposes.
5. THIRD-PARTY SERVICES
- Supabase — database, authentication, and real-time infrastructure. supabase.com/privacy
- OpenAI — processes reel URLs and metadata for AI mood tags. OpenAI does not use API requests to train its models. openai.com/policies/privacy-policy
- RevenueCat — manages subscription status and purchase history. revenuecat.com/privacy
- Google Play Services / Google Cast — app delivery, in-app purchases, and casting to TV. policies.google.com/privacy
- Device location services — used only if you tap the optional one-time auto-detect location feature described in Section 3.
6. DATA SHARING
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We may share your information only in the following circumstances:
- With service providers: As described in Section 5.
- Within your group: Your display name and voting responses are visible to members of groups you have joined.
- Legal compliance: If required by law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request.
- Business transfers: In connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, with notice provided to you.
7. DATA RETENTION
We retain your account information and app data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete your personal data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.
How account deletion works: Identifying information is permanently deleted within 30 days. Historical activity data may be retained in anonymized form, no longer attributable to the deleted account.
8. CHILDREN'S PRIVACY
The App is intended for users 18 years of age and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Contact us at support@docdoomscroll.com if you believe a child has provided us with their information.
9. YOUR RIGHTS AND CHOICES
- Access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Correction: Request correction of inaccurate data.
- Deletion: Request deletion of your account and associated data.
- Portability: Request a portable copy of your data.
- Opt-out: We do not sell personal data, so there is no sale to opt out of.

10. CALIFORNIA PRIVACY RIGHTS (CCPA)
If you are a California resident, you have additional rights under the CCPA. The App only ever collects approximate location, at your option, on a one-time basis. We do not sell personal information. To submit a verifiable consumer request, contact us at support@docdoomscroll.com.
11. SECURITY
We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information. Your data is stored on Supabase's infrastructure, which maintains industry-standard security practices.
12. CHANGES TO THIS POLICY
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. For material changes, we will notify you through the App or by email.
